Have you ever made a Snail's Trail block? I took the block and made a real snail out of it!
I combined the snail blocks with simple strip piecing to make the quilt called A Snail's Trail. This makes a quick and easy child's quilt.
This quilt has been published in the March/April issue of Love of Quilting.
Here is the photo they took for the inside of the magazine. Don't they do a great job with photography!
Love of Quilting has graciously sent a copy of the magazine for me to give away. Leave a comment below telling what kind of kids quilt you like to make to be entered into the drawing for the free issue. Make sure I can contact you if you are a winner. Drawing is open to USA only due to shipping costs. Entries accepted till March 18.
I like to make quilts that are fairly simple as I know they (hopefully)will gets lots of use. Simple nine patches with stars or rail fence or strip quilts are my go-to designs. I love your new design! I will have to be on the look out for this magazine!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! What a great design. I too like that you kept the focus on the snails and kept the rest of the quilt plain.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually behind or in a hurry so I go for I Spy 5 in blocks with a sashing. Put them on the diagonal about 50 of them and I'm done pretty fast.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - looks like it belongs on my Aunt DeDe's wall in Florida.
ReplyDeleteMy grandma gave me a copy of this magazine and I fell in love with this and want to make it for my goddaughter, who is almost here! I have tried to make stencils from the magazine but i am struggling since they are shown together without an exact 1/4 seam each. I was wondering if you have a full pattern available online to print? Im a beginner quilter but would really love to do this for my little "Katydid"
