Here's a brand new book hot off the press: The Big Book of Table Toppers by Martingale. This is truly a BIG book! It has 56 patterns in it. That's a lot of patterns! I'd say the patterns are some of the best of the best. I think many if not all the patterns come from different Martingale designer's books. I'm happy to say that I have a small table topper included in the book that came from my book Little Gems.
Here is my little table topper called Basket Weave. It is made using paper piecing.
This cute runner by Tammy Johnson is called Grandma's Sewing Basket. I like how the ric rac flows thru the runner and forms the basket handles!
This quilt by Cindy Lammon is called Simply Simple. It IS very simple, but I love how she used the large print in the center. The colors are wonderful. It's a great way to use one of those beautiful prints that you just can't bear to cut up!
One last sneak peak- this quilt is called A Pack of Posies is by Vicki Bellino. It has a touch of applique and could also be a good project to use lots of scraps.
As you can just begin to see from these four runners, the projects in this book have a nice range in techniques. The colors and patterns are really inspiring. This book has it all. I'm sure everyone could find many projects that they'd like to make!
Check it out at your local quilt shop or ShopMartingale.com for a hard copy or ebook.
Martingale has graciously offered a free ebook of The Big Book of Table Toppers for a drawing from my blog. Please leave a comment telling how many table runners you've made to be entered in the drawing. Drawing will be held Jan 13.
Basket Weave is beautiful. Great sneak peeks into this book. Does look like an exception value. I honestly can't remember how many table toppers I've made, but definitely not enough. Majority have been given away. I definitely want to make more this year and create some with seasonal fabrics. Great for home and for gifts.

I think I've made to many tabletoppers to count! If I had to guess....Probably 20!! And I always love to make more!! They make the perfect gifts!
ReplyDeleteI love tabletoppers because they are small enough that I can do a lot of them and try more designs than I can get to doing larger quilts. I also like to buy charm packs for them to use fabrics that I usually can't afford in larger sizes. I have made about 15 tabletoppers. Very enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteA couple dozen or more. One Christmas I made a dozen for the female relatives as their gift.
ReplyDeleteAnna, you are the winner of the ebook! Please send me your email by Sunday so you can recieve the ebook.
DeleteI have made a significant number of table toppers..... who doesn't appreciate a mini-quilt? Table toppers are a fun project to work on and a wonderful thing to make as a gift! Thank you for the great giveaway opportunity!
ReplyDeleteLove your basket weave - very nice! I just finished a Christmas topper for my dining room table. It was my first! mumbird3(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI have at least 30 in my linen closet. Some are even reversible.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Connie! I have made several table runners and often give them as special hostess gifts. And they can be great scrap busters. I like the variety of styles in this new book. mfhagopian@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have a clue how many! They are my favorite projects since I change out my colors seasonally. I would be thrilled to have some fresh ideas!!! The book looks amazing
ReplyDeleteI love your Basket Weave table Topper! I even have the basket weave fabric you used. Table toppers are so fun to make and use. Great gifts Too! I think by looking at my photos I have made about 70 since I started quilting.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy making table runners and matching placemats, especially for shower/wedding gifts. no duplicates of that gift. I have made many, many table runners, but am always looking for new patterns.
