Today is Day 6 of the Little Gems Blog Hop. I hope you have been enjoying each days blog.
Today we are highlighting Ackfeld Manufacturiing. They are the company that makes the lovely wire stands that hold the Little Gem quilts in the book.
I've used these stands in the past and just love them. They are great to use on a mantel, a dresser, the piano, etc. Having a stand to display or a wire hanger to hang the quilt makes each quilt stand out in all it's beauty.
Here are a couple different stands that were used in the book.

The stand featured on the cover with the quilt Black & White Delight, is plain with no topper. You can purchase many stands like this and get a very wide variety of tops to go with the stand. The tops just slide right down on the base. They can be changed out seasonally or to suit whatever quilt you display.

The stands also come with a variety of different color finishes. This quilt: Harbor Lights, shows a stand with a white finish .

The stand holding the quilt Snow on the Mountains shows one of the seasonal tops that can be attached to the base stand. This stand has a charcoal coating.

The quilt Serenity is shown on a wire hanger. The hangers also come in a variety of sizes and color coatings.
While the stands in this book are all for 12" x 12" quilts, Ackfeld Wire makes stands in a large variety of sizes and color coatings. There really is something to go with every quilt. They also make a wide variety of other products such as: wall mounts, spool racks, ornament stands, display holders, bell pulls, electrical outlet plates, etc.
Go to their website www.ackfeldwire.com and check out their large selection of products, and be sure to ask your local stores to carry the Ackfeld stands and hangers.
Leave a comment below to be entered into a drawing for a 12" x 12" Ackfeld Wire quilt stand. Tell me where you would display your "little gem".

Not only are those mini quilts gorgeous but those stands are lovely too!! I can't decide which is my favourite!! I think that I would display my mini quilt in our dining room.
ReplyDeleteThe mini quilts in the book are gorgeous, and the new ones made with batiks in this blog hop are wonderful. The quilt stands used for the minis makes them perfect!
ReplyDeleteMy mini would be displayed in my living room.
Lovely minis! They would definitely fit in my sewing room, to remind me that beauty is in making!
ReplyDeleteYour miniature quilts look perfect on the stands Connie! I have a couple of them and love using them!
ReplyDeleteI would display my mini in my dinning room or my office at work.
ReplyDeletethese are beautiful...especially made with my favorite fabric company Robert Kaufman
ReplyDeleteI've used Ackfeld for what seems like 20 years - back to when cross stitch was my primary passion. When I took up quilting, small kits often came with display stands - they were (and still are!) a big hit with gift quilt recipients. At the time, credit was seldom given to Ackfeld on kit literature. Now eveyone knows them. I'm so happy for their success! Visit their website - they have a stand for everything! And still loving these minis. I'm going to put them everywhere - as singles where space is limited, and in groupings where they can play off each other.

ReplyDeleteI've been to this website. I was hoping to find something that was adjustable for height and width but didn't find one like that; however, everything I saw was very nice. I'm working on some littles that aren't all a standard size. If I won a stand, I would display it on the cedar chest in my living room. It used to belong to my mom and is a nice piece of furniture, on legs, and is currently covered with my collection of vintage tea cups. I think a Little Gem on one of these stands would be a beautiful backdrop for my tea cups!
ReplyDeleteI love what I'm seeing from this book too.
